Good morning readers!
In the last session we were introduced to GAMIFICATION.

By way of introduction, Gamification is the application of game theory concepts and techniques to non-game activities. Game theory is a branch of mathematics that seeks to understand why an individual makes a particular decision and how the decisions made by one individual affect others.
In pairs we talked about the main ideas and characteristics of this method. After then, Michael told us an example of exercise.
The main steps you need to cover to apply gamification are:
1. Understanding the Target audience and context.
2. Define the learning objectives.
3. Structuring the experience.
4. Identifying resources.
5 .Applying gamification elements.
The game is called GALLETAS. It is based on follow the lines to get an objective and it is really recommended to students with attention problems. We talked about Gamification’s mechanics and dynamics. In this table you can see the areas oncluded in the planning:

To end up with the class, we have a debate about different types of players and how their personality affects the development of the gamification. We can distinguish some like killers, socializers, achievers or explorers, each one need to be in the gamification.
See you soon readers,
Ángela.
